My Year In Review 2016

Can you believe we're here already?  At the end of 2016.  I know it's a cliche but where the hell did the year go?  Honestly... anybody know?

Because the year is winding down  I thought it would be nice to do a round up of some of the most popular posts on my blog as well as some my personal favourites this year. So I'm just going to jump right into it.

Top 5 Most Popular Post This Year

I decided to start off with the most popular because these are the posts you seemed to enjoy the most.  I have to say I was taking back with the amount pf people that liked, shared and commented on these posts throughout the year.  Here on my little blog I like to keep it real and I think thats why you have responded so well to them.

Anxiety & Me

This was the most read post on my blog this year.  I actually became very overwhelmed after writing this as the response to this post became huge.  I simply wanted to share my story of how I dealt with my anxiety throughout the years, when I first really understood what it was and what triggered it in hopes that it might reach 1 or 2 of you so that you know you are not alone.  Little did I know thousands of you would read it and I would receive dozens of messages daily for weeks after posting it.  It was the first time I really felt connected to you as a reader.  So many of you opened up, shared your storys or just got the courage to speak to someone about what you were dealing with.  It was then I relised the power of social media and the power of sharing your story with others.  Its important to know that no matter what your dealing with you are not alone, your are strong even though you feel weak and you are important!  If you haven't read this post yet you can just click the link below.

Artdeco Most Wanted Contour Palette

I have to say when I was searching my top 5 I was very surprised with the amount of people who has read this review.  When looking into it further I don't think there is many blog reviews on this palette so this must be a big reason as to why so many people checked this one out this year.  If you follow me on Snapchat - CuddleNContour then you will know that I am obsessed with this palette.  So much so I own both the cool toned and the warmed toned versions.  To read the full review and find out why I am as obsessed as I am just click the link lovely :)

The Biggest Pregnancy Myths Busted

This was such a fun post to do.  I was bored one day and decided to google top pregnancy myths.  When I read them I did giggle as I knew from having the experience of being pregnant twice alot of them we're false.  However there was some true ones in there.  To check them out just click the link below.

Dealing With Mommy Anxiety

This was a post I wanted to write for so long.  I feel like since I became a mom I was dealing with anxiety on a different level.  Suddenly you are in charge of keeping another human alive.  It is now your sole purpose in life to keep them safe, warm, happy, fed, clean the list just goes on and on and continues to get longer and they get older.  So I was no longer just anxious about my own worries and stresses I was now worrying and stressing about them too!  In the post you will find my biggest struggles as a mommy dealing with anxiety.

Oh No Biggy I just Vlogged

So it seems you we're just as excited as me to watch my first ever Youtube Video Vlog.  It was something I was so excited about starting and I was good for a while.  There is a few vlogs up on my Youtube.  I honestly had great plans for my channel but time passed and there was always something else to do.  If I'm honest I just got lazy.  It is 100% going to be one of my main focuses for next year.  So keep an eye on this space.

Watch the Vlog below :)

Because I have just gone through quite a few posts I don't want to overload of I decided to narrow it down to my top 3 personal favourite posts this year.  It was almost impossible to pick only 3 as every post I upload I make sure I am 100% happy with and if I were a reader to my blog, that I would 100% enjoy.  I only ever write posts that I would enjoy to read.
So here are my top 3 posts of 2016.

Anxiety & Me

So I'm pretty sure this is not going to be a surprise.  As I said above the response from you guys was overwhelming.  I loved getting to know and chatting with you.  It was so uplifting for me to know that I was not alone.  Its easy to forget when your down that there are others out there just like you.  I was so inspired by each and every one of you for sharing your thoughts, feelings and wisdom with me.  I found this post the hardest to write,  Sitting down and reliving my past was really hard for me.  I went back to a time in my life which still stands as one of the hardest trials I have ever been through.  I was at my weakest and my anxiety controlled me.  After uploading the post I actually became very anxious, I know the irony right?  I was just so nervous about opening up about that time in my life but in hindsight I am so glad I did.  I connected with so many people because of it.

Why I started blogging

Why did you start blogging?  What made you start up your blog?  How did you start your blog?  These are among some of the most frequently asked questions I get asked on snapchat even to this day.  Blogging was always something I wanted to do.  I've lost count of the amount of email addresses, tumblr accounts and blog pages I created over the years before creating Cuddles And Contouring.  I let so many different thinsg hoild me back but ultimately I discover the only person that was really holding me back was myself.  After that day I sat down with my laptop and wrote my first ever blog post where my little blog was born.  If you want to read the full story check our the post below.

Everything you need to know to become the perfect mom

I remember being giving baby books on my first pregnancy and being told by my nurses and midwifes that every I needed to know about being a good mom was there for everyone to read online.  I remember thinking Jesus this is great I'll just go home now and do a bit of research and everything will be great.  WRONG!  I actually distinctly remember finding guides on how to be a great mom and just thinking how ridiculous it all sounds.  After having two kids and dealing with two pregnancies I decided to sit down and write my own guide, one that if your hopefully is a bit more realistic, truthful and brutally honest!

So there you have it my blogs year in review.  It has been one filled with ups and downs, truths, rants and hauls and I've enjoyed every second of it.  I want to take this time to thank you for taking the time to read my posts and if your new taking the time to read this post.  I understand that the most valuable gift you can ever give is time and to think that so many of you shared yours with me is amazing.  I will forever be grateful.  I set this blog up with the intent that it would keep me sane.  A place I could come as a mother of two kids who shared her days with her kids whos conversations ranged from whats for breakfast?  Will you put on Mickey Mouse?  Whats for lunch?  Mom, I pooped! Can I have a snack?  Mom look at me (as child hurdles through the air)  Whats for dinner?...  I'm sure you get the picture, haha.  Being a stay at home mom took its toll on me and I felt so alone.  I turned to my blog as an outlet a place I could go and share my experience and thoughts.  Little did I know flash forward to know that there would be thousands of you reading my journey so far and making me feel somewhat normal.

I would really love to hear from you guys.  What was your favourite post this year?  Have you got any blog post requests for 2017?  Let me know in the comments below or you can message me :)

I'm signing off for the very last time this year.  I;m wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year and may it be filled with love, peace and gratitude.

Lisa,
Xo
