Deise Dolls Day in Aid of Pieta House

Hey guys so on Saturday gone, Rachael from Rachsboutique, Blathnaid from Wildflower Diaries and myself held the first ever Deise Dolls Day.  It was a sell out show which was something we were not expecting but it was such a nice feeling to see how many people where interested in coming and who wanted to support such a worthy cause.
It took months of meticulous planning but it all came together in the end.  We wanted to create the Ultimate event and cater to everyones obsessions.  Whether your a true makeup addict, hair queen, fashionista or skincare fanatic we wanted to have you covered!  There was lots of meetings and hard work behind the scenes too but enough about that lets get into the actual day itself.

We kicked things off with the gorgeous Sammy Stacey who actually volunteered her time between clients.  Sammy currently works in LuLuBelle so if you wish to book an appointment with her you can do so through the salon or her personal page, I will link everyone's details at the end of this post!  She created a stunning soft smokey eye on her model and she was confident and chatty throughout.  Its not always easy being up first at events like this but Sammy thrived and everyone loved her makeup demo.  She answered everyones questions and gave us plenty of tips and tricks on how to create our own makeup perfection.

Next up do Demo for us on the Day was the beautiful Fiona from Easilocks Hair Extensions.  Fiona travels around Ireland doing demos for Easilocks amongst many other things.  I actually first met Fiona when I attended the Joanne Larby (Makeup Fairy Pro) event in The Waterford Health Park Pharmacy a few months back.  When I seen her demonstrate just how easy the pieces were to put into your own hair I was absolutely sold!  They look so natural but make such a real difference.  I mean event after she demoed at the Deise Dolls Days there was ques upon ques for people who were queuing up to get their hands on an Easilocks hair piece.  She also showcased the 3 in 1 Hair Hero which I have to say is on my Christmas wish list.  It curls, waves and straightens your natural hair along with your easilocks hair piece.

Next we had an amazing talk from Tracey who works for the Skincare brand Uriage.  If you haven't heard of Uriage I urge you to look them up and find your local stockist.  Their Thermale Spray is amazing and I used it religiously throughout my summer skincare routine, I also loved to use it after the gym or on really hot days to keep my skin looking and feeling hydrated.
Tracey spoke about the brand and all the products they cater for within their range.  She then opened up the floor to our audience where people could finally have their skin care questions answered by a true professional!

After the skincare talk we then had the absolutely lovely girls from Redlane Boutique Jane and Catherine who are so knowledgeable within their field of fashion.  If you are struggling to dress your body type, or your struggling to find an event for an upcoming event I can't recommend these girls highly enough.  They explained the importantce of knowing whether you are cool toned or warm toned because knowing that will help you choose what colours will look best on you and your skin.  They chatted about all body types and the best clothes that will flatter your body the most.  I know if I have anything coming up again I will be out to the girls in Redland boutique they are based in Tramore and I will link their details below.

Then last up before our break was Michael who is the manager here in Waterford for Pieta House.  As some of you may or may not know last year myself and Rachael along with another blogger Jodi organised the our second ever Deise Blogger Event.  All money we raised that night went straight to Pieta house.
I found Michaels chat so interesting and eye opening really.  Last year alone Pieta house helped over 500 people in Waterford.  To care for one persons treatment and recovery it costs €1000.  So last year they needed 500'000 and to think our little event went towards someones treatment makes it all worth while.  I think its also worth mentioning that they only recieve 6% of their fundraising from the HSE so if their is anything you do today I urge you donate to Pieta House.  Its a charity that I know is close to alot of peoples hearts as 1 in every 3 of us will know someone who has sadly committed suicide.
Pieta house also run workshops in Secondary schools to teach kids and make them aware of their mental health which in my opinion is crucial.

We then broke for a 25 minute brake.  €5 of everyones ticket was redeemable against product in the health park so during this brake it gave people time to browse around the Pharmacy and enjoy some of the amazing food, Procesco, cupcakes and cakes.
Sweet Events were also their on the day and again they kindly donated the use of their Magic Mirror.  It went down such a treat with everyone and I know myself I loved it.  Sweet events are a local business in Tramore so if your planning an event yourself or any occasions I urge you to check the out.  I think this magic mirror would be amazing at a wedding!

Louise from Tomitago was also their and Louise not only kindly gifted everyone a mini body oil but she also donated a raffle prize worth over €110!  That's insane,  I have never met anyone with the kind of generosity Louise has.  Also on the day she had a stand and was offering a massive 30% off products on the day for all attendees of the Deise Dolls Day!

I also want to say a special thanks to The Rose Cafe who kindly donated 72 mini cupcakes, Cherub Couture Cakes for donating the specatular two tier Deise Dolls Day Cake that featured all three of us on top of the cake!  Another huge thank you to Marie who donated fresh flowers to the event which added a little extra something to the room.  She created a gorgeous bunch of flowers and displayed them in high heeled shoes which really helped tie in the theme of our event.  I also want to thank O' Briens for donating Procesco and last but certainly not least my Mam and Dad who catered the event thank you so much to everyone involved!

After the brake we were joined by non other then the master of hair Marina Hayes who has her own salon out on the Dunmore Road, The Confession Box.
Marina created a gorgeous 1950's wave curl and showed us all tips and tricks on how create a look jst like that at home.  Now I have to say Marina made it look so easy and she went into detail on to to backcomb properly which is something I really need to work on, haha.

So that brings us to the last part of the event we wanted to end on a high so during the brake we sold raffle tickets and ran a huge raffle.  A massive thank you to all who kindly donated prizes on the day and to everyone who also sponsered products for goodie bags!

Judging by all the happy faces we saw leaving the event we knew it had been a success.  I am still recovering from sleep days on but I am already looking forward to getting stuck into the planning of our next event.

Again I would just like to thank absolutely everybody who donated products or their time to this event which made it the massive success it was.
